Data Storage

On Your Device Only

All data stays on your device:

• Bottle inventory - Stored locally using AsyncStorage
• App preferences - Theme settings, filter options stored locally
• API keys - Encrypted using iOS Keychain (via Expo SecureStore)

We cannot access, view, or retrieve any of this data. If you delete the App, all local data is permanently removed.

Camera and Photo Library

What We Access

The App requests permission to:

• Camera - To capture images of bottles for AI identification
• Photo Library - To select existing photos of bottles for scanning

How Images Are Used

When you scan a bottle:

1. The image is sent directly from your device to Google Gemini
2. The image is processed to identify the bottle
3. The image is not stored by the App after scanning
4. The image is not sent to us - we never see it

Image processing is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

API Keys

Your Keys, Your Control

The App requires you to provide your own Google Gemini API key for bottle scanning functionality. This is free from Google AI Studio.

How we handle your API keys:

• Stored encrypted on your device using iOS Keychain
• Never transmitted to us or any third party (except the AI provider during API calls)
• Never logged or recorded by the App
• We have no ability to access, view, or recover your keys

Your responsibility:

• Keep your API keys secure
• Monitor your own API usage and costs through your provider's dashboard
• Revoke keys through your provider if compromised

Third-Party Services

Cocktail Data

The App includes cocktail recipes sourced from TheCocktailDB. This data is bundled within the App at installation - no network requests are made to fetch recipes, and no information is sent to TheCocktailDB.

Google Gemini

When you scan bottles, images are sent to Google Gemini using your API key. We do not control how Google handles this data. Please review their privacy policy linked above.

Data We Do NOT Collect

Pour Decisions does not collect:

• Personal information (name, email, phone)
• Location data
• Device identifiers
• Analytics or usage data
• Advertising identifiers
• Any data whatsoever sent to our servers (we have none)

Children's Privacy

The App contains alcohol-related content and is not intended for users under 17 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children as we do not collect data from anyone.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Your Rights

Since we don't collect any data, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete. All your data is stored locally on your device and can be removed by deleting the App.
